Rob Lowe rose to fame in the 1980s in films including Class, The Hotel New Hampshire, Youngblood, About Last Night and The Outsiders, while his appearances in the award-winning political saga The West Wing introduced his features to a whole new audience.

While A Few Good Men is best remembered as the blockbusting 1992 film starring Tom Cruise, Demi Moore and Jack Nicholson, it originally started life as a hit show on Broadway in the late 1980s. The play tells the story of a court case where the military establishment tries to cover up the murder of a young marine by his fellow soldiers. Rob Lowe takes the role of Lt Daniel Kaffee, the military lawyer who attempts to convince the court that the imposing Colonel Jessup is guilty of conspiracy.

As well as penning A Few Good Men and The West Wing, Aaron Sorkin has also written the screenplays for Malice and The American President.
